“Mauka to Makai”
Ceramic Vessel | 15"height x 10"diameter
Mauka to Makai (or from the mountain to the sea) is unique vessel formed with hand thrown clay infused with colored mica and fired with a Naked Raku technique. Colors are enhanced after firing by hand painting acrylic washes and then the piece is sprayed with a UV protectant to ensure a legacy of lasting beauty.
Each vessel is made individually by the artists and is hand thrown and hand painted. Due to this process, each piece is unique, one of a kind, and will vary slightly in size and imagery. This work is signed by the artist and dated with the year of creation.
