"I turned this vessel from a piece of jacaranda tree that I planted over 15 years ago at my studio-home on the Big Island. It needed to be trimmed and the wood was so beautiful that I decided to turn this vase on my wood lathe especially for the 4th Anniversary Auction at Gupton Gallery. I embellished it with 3 Kamehameha Butterflies using a combination of pyrography with prismacolored pencils. The piece has a protective acrylic clear coat finish.
