Mauka Thunderstorm
Kate and Will Jacobson "Originators of Naked Raku"
“Mauka Thunderstorm”
Original | Raku Ceramic Vessel | 9" height x 14" length x 3" width | Landscape Form
This unique piece of art is hand thrown clay infused with colored mica. Imagery is dry etched through the glaze and then fired with a Naked Raku technique. Colors are enhanced after firing by hand painting acrylic washes and then the piece is sprayed with a UV protectant to ensure a legacy of lasting beauty. The colors used in this work of art are phosphorescent, meaning that, once exposed to light, the colors will 'glow' when the room is dark.
Each vessel is made individually by the artists and is hand thrown and hand painted. Due to this process, each piece is a unique, one of a kind creation, and will vary slightly in size and imagery. Each work is signed and dated with the year of creation.
