Bea was born and raised in Germany and heard the calling to create at a young age. Then and today, she looks at most things as potential art supplies. A formal training in fine art and art history together with regular pilgrimages to the great art museums in Europe sharpened her knowledge, appreciation, and focus. This focus has always been accompanied by great passion for color and form.
Her work is never purely traditional, but a quest to explore and expand the boundaries of materials and her own imagination. Her favorite techniques and media include graphite drawings, painting using acrylic or oil paints, pyrography and the joyful alchemy of mixed media with wood, resin, metal, and even eggshells.
Besides creating in her own versatile approach, her other passion is the ocean and its inhabitants. This results in calming beach scenes and magical underwater compositions.
